Rainbow and Enterprise
This document will ease the confusion on Rainbow and Enterprise, the pros and cons to them, provide cost analysis and provide enough information to make an educated decision whether these items are worth purchasing.
What is Rainbow?
Rainbow is a color addon. Originally Doodly did not come with colors and it was only black and white. Color pathways, called rainbow, had to be added to every doodle. Some of assets were missed but most of them have it.
Is there a cost for having Rainbow?
Yes. The rainbow addon is a one time payment of $67.00.
Is rainbow worth the investment?
This depends on the usage. As with all Doodly addons, the rainbow addon makes your life much easier. You can take the time to snip out every asset, add your own color to it in a photo editor, convert it to an SVG, import it back into Doodly and create your own reveal paths but what is our time worth? Is the amount of time it would take to do this to 1,500+ assets for a standard user and 3,000+ assets for an Enterprise user worth $67.00?
What is Enterprise?
Enterprise allow access to the Doodly Club & more assets including text, font, character and props. The Doodly Club allows you to have the new assets that are released every month.
Is there a cost for Enterprise?
Yes. The Enterprise package addon is a one time payment of $97.00.
Is Enterprise worth the investment?
This highly depends on how the intent of use of Doodly. Having Enterprise definitely provides more options for use but that doesn’t mean they will be used. Search for assets first and see if any of what may be used are even in the Enterprise package.
Am I required to purchase these?
No. They just make life easier if you do purchase them.
Rainbow and Enterprise Pros
- Make life easier
- Provides more options
- Allows for better doodles
Rainbow and Enterprise Cons
- Cost more money
- Some of the assets are poorly created
- The coloring scribbles the color and appears unrealistic.
What is my personal opinion?
I like the fact that I automatically obtain the release of new characters but keeping in mind that whenever they are releasing characters they are giving them to standard users as well which make the Enterprise people say, what the hell did I pay for Enterprise for if you are just going to give everyone the characters? I do have more props and characters available to me and I like that as well.
