Be Clear and Concise

Rambling on about a product or service and not getting to the point is one of the fastest methods to lose a viewers attention. They are there for the information and not there to hear you ramble. Yes, all the information is super important but it doesn’t have to be packed into the doodle.

Let the doodle catch their attention and then provide a call to action. Bring them to a website, call a phone number or something else for however you are selling your product and service and then explain it to viewer.

We, as video designers, have 2 – 5 seconds to catch a viewers attention and we must continually keep that attention throughout the doodle.

Example

1. Take a look at the two images right now and then come back here and continue reading.
Did you take a good look at both of them?
2. One of the images has a ton of text and the other one a little bit of text. Imagine this in a doodle in a video on Facebook or somewhere else. Which one would you pay attention to more
3. Over explaining a product or service may not be a good thing and may not provide you with the results for which you are seeking.
4. Sometimes less is more when selling a product or service.

I have a “Be Clear and Concise” chapter in my Most Common Beginner Mistakes video tutorial that provides better examples and goes into a lot more detail. Watch that chapter for more information.
